Bruce offers a unique repair experience that upholds Horn Forensics' mission to share experiences and knowledge and to make the horn easier to play.
Repairs and adjustments are a collaborative process that you as an owner will be an integral part of. If you are local, Bruce will invite you into his repair shop and explain his process to you. He may even invite you to assist with certain aspects of the repair if you are interested.
Bruce specializes in C. F. Schmidt horns from the first half of the 20th century, restoring or modifying them to bring them up to date. He also has done extensive modification work on Alexander, Yamaha, Paxman, and vintage Kruspe instruments.
A note about the workshop: it’s a working space. It’s full of tools and parts and chemicals and evidence of work done. If you’re ready to get your hands dirty, this is the place to do it.
